Tony Hillerman, James Doss, and J.A. Jance all write mysteries set in the "patchwork reservation" area around Four Corners (where Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah meet). Jance's "Joanna Brady" series is the least Indian-oriented of the three. Doss' books center on the Utes, and Hillerman tends to cover a majority of tribes, especially Navajo.
