This is an oversized paperback, 8-1/2" x 11" and over 330 pages long. From the introduction:
This publication features newspaper accounts of various murders and near misses in Carbon County [Montana] in the period of its history from 1888 through 1929.
The first section gives a review of events between the arrival of the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery in July of 1806 and the last major Indian incident in 1867. This is the only exception to the rule of complete reliance on newspaper accounts. Even in this section two events, one in 1884 and the other in 1887, are taken from accounts in the Billings newspapers.
